Hi, I’m Bruno! As a physician lucky enough to be born and living in Venice, I enjoy photography as my favorite hobby. I love both the theoretical and technical aspects that lie behind any click of the shutter as much as the creative, artistic process that bring to life the final result any photographer chases after: the picture.
At the beginning I was loving photography for itself but, as time passed, photography made me love things I was not even interested in before. Nature, art, architecture, street life have all started meaning so much more to me behind my lens. After buying my first digital reflex I was also travelling more and more, as photography has been the powerful driving force behind a new will to discover.
I started this blog to share my photographic experiences while wandering around the most exciting places. I also try to collect and share my thoughts about pictures as I think pictures are made of more than just colours and shapes. Beneath pictures there are ideas, and I will try to share my ideas too.
So, thank you so much for visiting my blog⦠any hints or comments will be appreciated!
“Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy. And ideas are bulletproof.”

However you got a lot better pictures than mine π

Accipicchia Bruno – Madhu thinks your photos are stunning ? I’m in ! β A Noisy Pilgrim’s opinion is worth following. π
Lovely photos you’ve got here!
Stunning shots of cities I love. Nice touch detailing information about the shot. Do use use HDR in your edit process and what software do you use most often.
Thanks vannillarock! I used to take more pictures and merge them with an HDR software like Photomatix, but often I wasn’t so thrilled with the unnutural effect. Now I use just Light room! Thank you for dropping by! π
Absolutely gorgeous photos that speak volumes!

I’m honored that you have chosen to follow my rather new foray into photoblogging and beginning efforts on the road to improving my photographic skills. Following your blog will be a delight!

Hi Bruno, really like your photos and thoughts!! thank you for your “likes” on mine … that’s how I found you of course!! (your blog has inspired me to “go black” on mine, after considering it for a long time … imitation is supposed to be the sincerest form of flattery, so i hope you don’t mind!!)

Hi there Bruno, thanks for stopping by my blog. I presumed straight away on seeing your site`s name that you might have some images from the film festivals given that you `liked` a post of mine about a Japanese film. Do you shoot pictures from these two great film festivals?
Hi Bruno,
I just realised I made an error when compiling my nominees for the Liebster Award yesterday. I love your photos and had always intended to include your blog, but somehow it got missed out, thanks to the mess of answers, questions and nominees in my head.
That said, I’ve now corrected my initial oversight, and hope you’ll still accept my belated nomination… http://jaspasjourney.wordpress.com/2014/08/17/liebster-award/
Hi Bruno
I am so glad you visited my blog as it led me to your beautiful world. You have such stunning photos in the blog. I am definitely visiting you back.

Hi 2far2shout! Cadiz is not so far to reach but actually I have never been there. Are you planning to visit it or do you have any suggestion about what to photograph there? It would be very welcome and maybe of inspiration for a next trip! π

Hey there Newbie Spikey!
(for your info, a Spikey is the term for folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike π
Been away for a while, but now I wanted to catch up and say “thank youβ¦ I really appreciate your ‘follow’ as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.”
Blogging since June 2013, my aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my βpoint n shootβ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations, opinions and lighter-hearted stuff thrown in for good measure.
I normally keep to a couple of posts a day, maybe 3-4 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe youβll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.
Thanks again and hope you have a great dayβ¦
UNCLE SPIKE
Hello there Uncle Spike! Thank you for the visit, Iβm glad Iβm part of the Spikey Clan! π
I just came across your photos, and they are truly beautiful! I look forward to seeing your future posts.
Hi Karen! I’m really glad you like them! Thank you for stopping by! π
Great photos Bruno. Other than in blue hour, how much do you use a tripod in Venice? I’m there next week.
Thanks Andrew! I have seen you already have a well packed Lowepro backpack on your way, and I agree with your choice of light cameras (and envy you a bit too!). Of course I use my tripod mostly during the blue hour but I like to have it with me also in the daylight together with my big stopper.. you know, Venice can get so crowded that you could desire to make people fade away with a longer exposure. So my suggestion is: carry it always with you if it doesn’t weight too much, especially if you are going for a day trip to Burano, as you are planning. But leave it hung to your backpack if you are in too crowded places like the fish market or Rialto’s bridge during rush hours! Have fun π
Thanks for the advice, Bruno. I’m still wavering on the 14mm prime. I thought it might be good indoors as it is relatively fast (F2.8). The 10-24 is excellent but slower glass. I am going to pack a small Domke bag too so I don’t have to carry the Lowepro pack all the time. Wave to us if you see a lost gweilo and his Chinese wife in Venice.
Hello Bruno, Thanks for dropping by and liking my post on Italy π I would love to visit Venice again, as I had mentioned, not in August or with kids! But it truly was a beautiful city. I really enjoyed looking at your photos, really beautiful!
Ciao Samiya, thank you for stopping by and for your beautiful comments! π I know how overcrowded Venice is and in the peak season a visit could be really stressful. In summer I’m the first who try to escape St. Mark’s Square and the surroundings, even making my way longer. I wish you could visit Venice and Italy again soon, my favourite periods are early Spring, with its clear skies, or October-November, with a charming fog! π
Hi Brubio, I can so imagine it would be absolutely stunning other times of the year. I had travelled to Rome in October and Amalfi coast in April and really enjoyed those periods without masses of people! can’t blame everyone for wanting to experience such a beautiful country though π
Well that’s the best part about going into a field we love and enjoy… the passion just brings everything to a sense of peace, harmony, and love… focusing on those things in our everyday lives will continue to bring them around more often!!!
Great quote.
Great movie and comics! π
Wish I had seen your bog before my trip there π I should be back sometime soon π Good work mate π
Hi Ajith! Venice is waiting for you, I hope you could come back soon. I really like your pics and I look forward to seeing your future posts! Ciao! π
Thank you for the likes on my photos. They prompted me to visit your blog and you’ll see I’ve been on a liking spree! Your photos are wonderful and capture the essence of each scene. I look forward to your future posts π
Hi Terry, thank you for stopping by and for your liking spree! I’m also looking forward to your future posts, I’am one of your followers! π Ciao!
Hello, Bruno! Thank you so much for “liking” my photo! Given how magnificent your work is, it is quite flattering. π I am eager to see more of your work now! All my best.
Thank you for your lovely comment, Racheal! More posts will come soon! π
Amazing photos! Thanks for liking my post! Wish I can take photos as good as you can. π
Hi JZ! Thank you for stopping by! Your blog is so inspiring, it makes me want to go in so many different places! π
Thanks π
Entiendo que has nacido y vives en Venecia, Β‘es nuestra ciudad especial! y cada aΓ±o intentamos visitarla unos pocos dΓas.
Me gustan mucho tus fotos.
Un saludo.
Hola! Sì, has entendido muy bien, he nacido en Venecia, y ahora vivo y trabajo aqui.
Bruno

Hi Rekha, thanks for stopping by! Actually, finding the time can be tricky, but luckily enough I love sunrises, and most of the days I am not busy at 5 am.. it’s just the willpower that lacks sometimes so early in the day! π
I must say You have got very strong will power. π
P.S. how you find time?
Lovely captures, what a beautiful canvas you have to paint, thank you for sharing!
